Lisa's art is a compilation of her interests in various forms and textures stemming from her years as an art gallery owner and lifetime artist. Layering wood, metal, leather, stone, beads, wire, antique buttons, foreign coins, stamps, embossing and various found objects is a common theme. The clean esthetic reflects her need for order (her self admitted OCD!)
Lisa is a Pacific Northwest native that now splits her time between the Flathead Valley in MT, and Sandpoint, ID.
Art is spiritual for Lisa and brings her great fulfillment, which she hopes is reflective in her pieces.
"I started my mixed media work exactly one year ago. It was a very cold & long winter here in Montana, and I really needed an outlet for my creative energy. I'm still not sure where the inspiration came from, but it hit hard and fast. I basically began working in an almost manic state, and haven’t slowed much since! I am enjoying the work tremendously and can't imagine not continuing to grow and experiment in this particular art form. In addition to the hanging wall pieces, I have started a line of art cards, and have also been shrink-wrapping the main centerpieces of my art, allowing customers to frame and mat the pieces according to their tastes and styles. (it' also a much more affordable alternative, and a lot easier to travel with if you were someone just visiting our area.) I started showing my work for the first time at Art Works Gallery in June of this year. It has been an incredible experience working in the gallery, and being surrounded by such talented and creative people." - Lisa
